This week has been fun to play with the different sides of the Flight & Airy DSP. I really love Pecan Pie – the Stampin’ Up! color friends 🙂 As you can see from Mondays card as well that this DSP is fantastic and pairs …
I have to tell you how much I love pairing a good stamp set/die and DSP together. When the April to January Mini Catalog came out, the Everyday Details Bundle was the first on my list. These dies are amazing and will be a staple …
I am continuing with the Softly Stippled DSP today. You can the first card using the Softly Stippled DSP HERE. I have two versions of today’s card, which actually uses very little of the Softly Stippled DSP but does highlight the Stippled Roses bundle with coordinates perfectly with the Softly Stippled DSP. Both cards are the exact same layout – one is for a beginner crafter with the other for a more avid crafter.
Measurements
8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ Crumb Cake Cardstock (scored in half at 4-1/4″)
4″ x 5-1/4″ Very Vanilla Cardstock (dry embossed)
2″ x 5″ Softly Stippled DSP
3-1/2″ x 5″ Very Vanilla Cardstock (to die cut scallop)
1-3/4″ x 1″ Very Vanilla Cardstock (to die cut rectangle)
I did use a blending brush to pick up Crumb Cake Ink and brush over the Exposed Brick texture, the scallop shape and the rectangle). I used Pool Party and Mossy Meadow blends to color in the focal point.
Measurements
8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ Crumb Cake Cardstock (scored in half at 4-1/4″)
4″ x 5-1/4″ Very Vanilla Cardstock (dry embossed)
2″ x 5″ Softly Stippled DSP
3-3/4″ x 5-1/4″ Very Vanilla Cardstock (to die cut image)
3-1/2″ x 5″ Very Vanilla Cardstock (to die cut scallop)
1-3/4″ x 1″ Very Vanilla Cardstock (to die cut rectangle)
For this version, I stepped the card up just a bit by doing two additional steps. The first step is to stamp the image in Memento Ink. My tip is to die cut the image before coloring! You don’t want the die to shift and ruin everything you just did. After I colored the image, I added a bit of Wink of Stella in the shaded or dark areas of the image. I also lightly added Crumb Cake ink around the edges of the die cut image just to soften it up a bit.

Wow, is all I can say about he Softly Sophisticated SAB bundle! It’s just so sophisticated and will be highlighted this week. You can see Mondays card HERE.
Today’s card has a super fun technique that adds a lot of wow impact to the card with no crafty skills! It’s important to make sure that use either our Thick Basic White Cardstock, Thick Very Vanilla Cardstock or Watercolor paper. I picked up ink from the lid of my ink pad with Water Painters and just did simple stokes in Wild Wheat Ink and Pool Party Ink. I let it set to the side a few minutes while I was cutting and piecing all the other pieces together. Here’s a quick tip – if you are really in a hurry you can always use your heat tool to dry just a bit quicker.
