Sale-A-Bration Spotlight – Softly Stippled 12″ x 12″ DSP

This week I am going to highlight the Softly Stippled 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. This was a bit challenging because I wanted to highlight the paper on this project. So, I started with the two sides that I just didn’t like. I know right, basing a project around a product you don’t like. Well, that’s what I needed to do to get my mojo going.

The Softly Stippled DSP coordinates perfectly with the Stippled Roses bundle. Remember that with a minimum $50 order (prior to shipping and tax) you can qualify for a FREE Sale-A-Bration item and guess what? Softly Stippled DSP is a $50 level FREE SAB item!

I created two cards with the same layout. Both cards are pretty clean and simple and a great layout to use to mass produce cards. Here’s my tip – I knew that the DSP was pretty loud or just not really please to the eye in my humble opinion (I know I am sure someone out there likes these prints!). So I used a piece of Vellum to really soften the look of the paper!

My first card is a simple congratulations card using a piece of the DSP that I just wasn’t sure about. I don’t know if it’s the pattern or the color combination of Calypso Coral, Wild Wheat and Pebbled Path.

Measurements

  • 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ Calypso Coral Cardstock (scored in half at 4-1/4″)
  • 3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ Pebbled Path Cardstock
  • 2-3/4″ x 5-1/2″ Softly Stippled Designer Series Paper
  • 3″ x 4-1/4″ Vellum
  • two scraps of Basic White

My second card is the exactly same layout and using the same coordinating products – just stepped up a bit.

Measurements

  • 5-1/2″ x 8 1/2″ Pebbled Path Cardstock (scored in half at 4-1/4″)
  • 1″ x 5-1/2″ Designer Series Paper (cut two pieces)
  • 2-3/4″ x 5-1/2″ Designer Series Paper
  • 3-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ Lost Lagoon Cardstock
  • 3″ x 4-1/4″ Vellum

I stamped the small rose in Memento Ink and die cut it out. I then colored the image with Lost Lagoon and Old Olive Blends. Here’s my tip when coloring die cut pieces. I **ALWAYS** stamp the image and die it out first before coloring! I don’t know how many times, I have colored the image and then went to die cut it the die shifted and ruined everything I had just done.
