Today I thought I would try something new and participate in the Make My Monday Challenge #190 Gifts – Stamped or Created at the encouragement of my friend Pam from Stinky Tofu. These mini pizza boxes are so much fun to create and are actually …

You may not know it, but I love baseball. It’s actually my most favorite sport. I’m so obsessive about baseball that I actually keep score by hand – yes like old school pencil and score card. My family thinks I am crazy – but its what I have always done. Here is an example of a score card:
While the World Series was on, I needed to get some swaps done for my trip to OnStage in Vancouver BC. A swap is pretty common in my crafting world. It’s when you create a card and trade it for another card. This year I signed up for two organized swaps and also needed to make swaps for general swapping. An organized swap typically has guidelines – which could be a theme or must include an embellishment. During game 6, I created one of my swaps which was had to be for a birthday.
I wish I had better pictures to share of the swaps. But I really love the way this gate fold card came out. I used the Hues of Happiness suite. The stamps, dies and paper all coordinate beautifully. Stampin’ Up! has done a great job in making sure that we can also not only use the dies with the stamped images but with the designer series paper as well!
I had to make 12 cards for the swap, so during the game I die cut flowers from the paper and did everything in an assembly line so that when I was ready to assemble I could just put each card together. A belly band holds the cards closed. I adhered a scalloped rectangle from the Scalloped Contours dies to the belly band. I then placed the flowers the I die cut from the Hues of Happiness designer series paper. Once you slide the band off the card opens up to bring your birthday greeting. Here’s a tip for you – the inside greeting is actually two stamps! I needed more than just “happy birthday” but also just the sentiment. So why not stamp them both!
I thought I would share a few photos of our Inky Fingers Crafty Retreat that was held in October. I love gathering with my closest crafty friends to spend the weekend together creating, laughing, bonding and for some of us spilling coffee all over our …
The Fond of Autumn bundle makes the most beautiful cards. The name does deceive you as you can easily turn the images into spring. My most favorite part about this bundle is how he dies can be used in so many ways – cute the …
Saturday night is always Bingo night at our Inky Fingers Retreat. We play five rounds of bingo with prizes for each round and we make three Make n Takes (MnTs). The focus on these are are usually an all occasion card. The Splendid Dad bundle has the most amazing Designer Series Paper ever! Side A is shiny – like beautifully shiny. While side B is a muted sheet. I just can not get enough of this DSP. Depending upon the paper choice you could easily turn this card into more rich tones or keep them more pastel tones so that you can met the needs of all.
One of my favorites things about our Inky Fingers Crafty Retreat is creating the Make n Takes (MnT) for our retreat. This year our MnTs focused on Christmas, which was great so that we could all get a jump start on our Christmas cards. Attendees …
I feel like I have lost my mojo with all that has happened the last few weeks. Being out of state for 3 weeks, did not help in planning for my October class and prepping for the Inky Fingers Crafty Retreat. While, I struggled with …
Every summer, several states have a tax holiday for school supplies. And, this actually includes some Stampin’ Up! products, like adhesive, grid paper, paper snips and markers. I’ve also listed the dates/states for those of you who are lucky enough to be on the list – sure wish Washington was one of the states 🙁 It’s a great time to stock up!
It’s been a while since I have been active here. I’ve been around, but life was busy and my blog took a back seat. Life has changed for me which is allowing me to focus on my creative side and getting back into the grove …
