Jackie recently participated in the Miss Washington Job’s Daughters pageant. As part of the pageant the contestants are encouraged to sell advertisements for the pageant program. These ads provide scholarships and fund the Miss Washington Job’s Daughter program. This was the first year Jackie participated …
Getting classes back on the schedule has been good for the soul. It means that I am getting my creativity back. It’s exactly what I need to fill my cup. One of the classes that I have scheduled in July is the a product based …
I have to admit with all that has been going on in life over the last few months, I haven’t even had the desire to craft. It’s been a horrible feeling – because I love to spend time crafting. I finally sat down and crafted yesterday. It was amazing! Thank you to one of my team members who came over to learn a few new fun folds with me.
I spent time creating a fun fold card using the Forever Greenery suite. It’s a beautiful suite that can be used for a variety of cards and projects. My mind is spinning with new ideas and I can’t wait to sit down and use this set with non-traditional colors 😉
I have to be honest, I’ve not had much inspiration lately. Being home for day like 90 something has really taken a toll on me. The thing that I am learning, is that it’s okay to admit that I am not doing well emotionally. It’s …
I have spent a lot of time looking at what is the safest way to proceed with our Crafty Retreat. After lots of thought, I feel as though it is best to reschedule for the fall. I know that this is not the best news …
So the last few posts you heard me talk about the “one sheet wonder” or “double wonder” cards. I have become a fan! I first talked about the double sheet wonder cards here. I wanted to show you some of the layouts made with the double sheet wonder. I did cut a few sheets of the DSP and used some of the scraps that I have for the DSP. Unfortatly, the Follow Your Art DSP is retiring (and on sale) and the ribbon used is all retired 🙁
It’s time to get caught up on making birthday cards! I spent some time creating a few sets on “one sheet wonder” cards today using the Woven Thread Designer Series Paper which is retiring on June 2, 2020. You can see all of the retiring …
Sale-A-Bration 2020 has ended, yet I still has unfinished projects from Sale-A-Bration 2019! Last year I made a card and had went ahead and cut for additional cards (like I usual do!). Well, they just sat in my box of card kits. In an effort …
Like many of you, I am finding myself quarantined away, I have found myself going through things that may have needed to be gone through for a long time. One of the things, I am trying to do is use up some of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) and Ribbon that I have stock piled away. You have also probably spent lots of time looking at Pintrest, Facebook, and all the other fun creative places to look for other ideas.
One of the ideas you have have seen is called a One Sheet Wonder or a Double Sheet Wonder. In 17 years, I have never done a One Sheet Wonder let alone a Two Sheet Wonder. But, I thought it was time and start using up this DSP hoarding issue I have. I will be honest, not only did I cut my 6″ x 12″ DSP to the measurements, but I also used some of my scrap pieces that I had as well. The original idea is that you can make 11 cards with a 6″ x 12″ DSP piece of paper.
So here is what I did, I sat down and started cutting my DSP to the measurements. This seems to be the most time consuming part of the project. Then I just sat down and started to mass produce cards based on each cut.
I’ll be sharing more on this idea over the next week, along with a template to use on how to cut your DSP. (All paper and ink used on these cards are current – unfortunately the ribbon is retired)
Welp, this whole COVID-19 has left many in limbo and more importantly it has brought family and friends closer together – even if we can’t be closer together in-person. Over the last few weeks the Board of Directors that I serve on has been working …
