Spirit of The Season

A few weeks ago, I participated in some business training. One of my favorite parts of these types of trainings are the Make-n-Takes. I have fallen in love with the Merriest Trees Bundle. There is a pretty neat little trick to this set that I’ll tell you about latter. I did change a few things because I didn’t have all of the supplies used in the demonstration sample – which is totally fine! It’s what we call a CASE – C.A.S.E. – otherwise known as Copy and Share Everything. It really is the highest compliment you can get!

I started off with a piece of 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ Thick Basic White Cardstock and scored at 4 1/4″. I love to use Thick Basic White or Thick Vary Vanilla Cardstock as card bases because I find they are a bit more sturdy for mailing. I embossed a piece of 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White Cardstock with the Snowflake Sky Embossing Folder and adhered it to the front of the card base with Dimensionals.

First stamp the large tree image in Garden Green ink, by stamping first on scratch paper and then onto your scrap Basic White Cardstock. You’ll do the same with again, this time using Garden Green ink again and Old Olive ink. Then you will stamp the top layer (the stamp to give it some dimension) in full strength with the match tree color ink.

Remember that tip, I told you I’d share. Well, here you go!

Cut the first tree out with the largest tree die, the second tree in the second largest tree die and the third tree with the third largest tree die. Do you see that, you use the same stamp but actually can get five different sizes of trees! Once you have your three trees cut, you will adhere them to the embossed piece with Dimensionals overlapping the trees as you like.

Use the Beary Cute Punch to punch out a bear from the A Walk in the Forest Designer Series Paper and adhere using dimensionals over the trees. I stamped the sentiment in Versa Mark ink on piece of Real Red Cardstock scrap (it’s about 1″ x 3″ piece) and embossed it with White Embossing Powered and a Heat Tool. I flagged the right end at an angle and adhered to with Dimensionals. I embellished with a few Iridescent Pearls around the embossed panel to accent the snow flakes.
