First I have to say, sorry for the quality of the photos. These were photos that I took to share with my team on thoughts and ideas. I am out of town as I write this which is probably a few days before you see this post which is why I am just using a quick photo.
We are winding down Sale-A-Bration 2020 – and boy am I sad about that. Sale-A- Bration (SAB) is really one of my favorite times of the Stampin’ Up! year. This card was featured in our March classes and we highlighted the Tags In Bloom set and So Very Vellum Specialty Designer Series Paper from from SAB second release brochure. Don’t forget that SAB ends on March 31st and products are limited!
During class I offered two color options – Soft Sea Foam or Purple Posey. I’m not normally a green person – but I have to tell you I’ve been making lots of extra cards in Soft Sea Foam. The photo is awful and really does not give the color justice.
Here are a few tips to create this card:
The Whisper White is embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder, it gives just the perfect amount of texture.
On a scrap of Whisper White, I stamped the flower shape in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and fussy cut it out. It’s a super simple cut!
On another scrap of Whisper White, I stamped the stitched outline shape in either Soft Sea Foam or Highland Heather (remember Purple Posy ink is not available). I stamped the Wishing you the Best sentiment on the center with Memento Ink and punched it out wit the Label Me Fancy Punch.
I colored the flowers in with Purple Posy and Soft Sea Foam Dark and Light Stampin’ Blends.
I used Snail Adhesive to adhere the So Very Vellum strip – but use just a bit – and just behind the flower pieces.
I then used Stampin’ Dimensionals on both the flower and sentient pieces.

My friend recently got into stamping – I know shocking. I have a friend who has not been a stamper in the past! She bought herself a die cutting machine and came over to learn how to use it. I created a few simple projects …
I was challenged by friend and regular class attendee to make some masculine cards because she had been running low. Truth be told, I am still out of masculine cards. I just have a hard time making them. I don’t know why – I have two sons and four grandsons so it’s not like I don’t need masculine cards.
So I dipped my toe in the water (haha – get it!) to make this card. It’s a card that could be masculine or could be feminine. The choice is yours. Either way this card is so easy to mass produce. So I am hoping my friend will be able to replenish her supply.
I started with a simple Whisper White cardbase. I embossed a piece of Balmy Blue with the High Seas 3D Embossing Folder. Here is a MAJOR TIP for you – watch the way your waves go. Notice on my card – they are upside down and look like clouds not waves – opps! I layered a piece of Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper over the embossed Balmy Blue. Using some scrap pieces of Whisper White I cut the next layer using the Stitched Nested Labels and stamped in Night of Navy the Happy Birthday from the Rustic Retreat set you could also use the Thanks or Congrats sentiment from the Sailing Home. I stamped the Lighthouse in Night of Navy on another piece of scrap and cut it using the Smooth Sailing dies. I also used a scrap of Cooper Foil Paper to cut the stern from the Smooth Sailing dies.

Poppies are a very special flower to me. It’s always held a special meaning as the mother, wife, daughter and granddaughter of a Veteran. However, the past summer while attending an International Conference for Job’s Daughters I was able to visit the World War I National Monument and Museum in Kansas City. It was an amazing experience. So when the Peaceful Poppies suite was introduced in the January – June 2020 mini catalog, I knew I just had to have it!
The cardbase is Poppy Parade – makes sense right? I then off center a piece of the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper with a piece of Vellum over it. I felt like the Vellum would soften the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper as I wanted to focus to be the Poppy. Here’s my tip on using the Vellum. I made the Poppy first by cutting out the shapes with the Poppy Moments dies in Flirty Flamingo and Poppy Parade and punched out the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss from Peaceful Moments using the Label Me Pretty Punch. I figured out where I wanted to place these items on my card. I then carefully used a bit of Snail Adhesive on the Vellum where the Poppy and sentiment would cover it up. I used Mossy Meadow to cut to leaves out and placed a few Champagne Rhinestones on the card.
