Happy Birthday to You

Happy Birthday to You

Quick little update on what has gone on the last few weeks. I had a planned Gallbladder surgery on February 11th. I was assured this was going to be easy peasy due to the past surgeries I have had. Well, they were sure were wrong.

The other day I needed to pull out and send a “boy” card – guess, what I didn’t have a single one! Not one single card – I have probably a good 100 cards ready to go – but they were all – well not

Beautiful Life Timeless Tulips

Beautiful Life Timeless Tulips

Sometimes we need a card to express our deepest sympathies for the loss of a beautiful life. This card reminds me of the bright and joyful life we lost here on earth. I think it’s okay to send a card full of color, that reminds us of the person who have lost on earth. This card, was made for three different occasions. First, I made it to celebrate that life of a woman who gave so much to those around her. The flowers and sentiment really – just reminded me of her. Next, I made the card for our team card swap. I’ll share some of the amazing swaps with you soon. And lastly, we made this card in the most recent card class.

I’ve got a few tips for you in making this card:
* Stamp the tulips first – I stamped the largest on first, then the two smaller one
* Next stamp the the stems and the leaves.
* I stamped the sentiment on a piece of Whisper White scrap paper and then punched out the shape in Basic Gray. I cut the Basic Gray in half an tuck behind just to give it a shadow effect.
* If you don’t get this stems lined up just right – leave the ribbon off and cover it up with the sentiment

You are Wonderful

I’ve had this card sitting on my desk to share for a few weeks now. I’ve got a stack of cards to share with you. We made this card a few weeks ago in our Fun and Creative Card class. I wasn’t sure about the color combination at first. I know it’s more fall like colors – but I really needed some neutral colored cards to refill my stash. With Lovely As a Tree finally retiring, I’m now falling in love with Rooted In Nature. It’s a great set – that I hope is around for as long as Lovely As A Tree was!
