I just realized with all the craziness going on the last few weeks, I hadn’t shared with you the make n’ take from our Occasion and Sale-A-Bration open house. It was a super simple card that could be easily mass produced in a variety of colors. I know this post is short, I promise to fill you in on all the happenings. I just have to say, I love, love, love Daper Denim and Peakaboo Peach together!
Well, I thought I would work on some birthday cards – we all need them right? Something, I don’t often do but should really do more of is using stamps to create the background images. So, I really should start doing this since I am a Designer Series Paper (DSP) hoarder. Yep, that’s me, I admit it. I’m a craft supply hoarder.
I was just stamping away – die cutting away, using the Balloon Adventure set. I got carried away and even made a few blunders. Which actually they turned out pretty good too. So just because they didn’t turn out they way you planed – don’t throw them away. You would have never guessed these two cards were blunders would you?
Dragonfly Dreams sure has been the go to set for me to use over the last few weeks. I love the Clear Wink of Stella it’s such a fun accent to use. I also used it on the Oval Stitched Framelit by “flicking” it on the Natural Ivory cardstock along with the Garden Green ink. I also used the Petal Burst Embossing Folder on a piece of Pool Party cardstock.
I created this card for my friend and fellow Fun n’ Crafty team member Susan for our January card swap. It’s such a fun swap. At the beginning of the month anyone who wants to participate sends a quick note to our coordinator letting her know. A few days later we get a private message with who we will be sending our card to. We send them out by the 20th of each month. As we each receive our card we post the card and who we got it from to our team Facebook page.
If you would like to join the Inky Fingers Stamping and the Fun n’ Crafty Stampers, I’d love to share more information with you. Now is the perfect time to join with the added Sale-A-Bration benefits – and there is absolutely NO COMMITMENT!
I worked on several projects on Sunday to share with you over the next week. Actually, I was hiding upstairs in the studio while the Cowboys game was on. My team the Seahawks had already lost the playoff game – there was no way I could stomach the Cowboys game.
I played around with two FREE items from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. First up was the Hey, Chick stamp set and Carried Away Designer Series Paper along with the all new Watercolor Pencils from the 2017 Occasions catalog.
I love the crazy feathers on this chick – it’s really how I feel. It was fun to use the Watercolor Pencils to create even more craziness with this Chicks feathers. As for the card I used Delightful Dijon, Basic Grey and Very Vanilla card stock.
Quick tip- don’t forget to use Archival Ink to stamp the image you are going to watercolor.
My sister Tara is a team leader with Gold Canyon Candles. I wanted to give her something special for Christmas that she could use in her business. I created a set of 20 notecards for her to send to her customers or team members. These cards were quick and easy by grabbing a package of notecards and envelops. They are the perfect size to create quick and easy cards and to write a quick note.
Here’s a fun tip – the washi tape holds the swirly circle in place! The only other adhesive is the dimensionals used to lift the banners. I must admit, I am a washi tape hoarder. Over the last few months I’ve learned to let go and use that washi tape!
So glad you came on over from my friend Kathy Thisted in our Fun n’ Crafty Team blog hop. Our team was focusing on projects with a Valentine’s theme. To be honest, I haven’t really been feeling the love if you know what I mean. Life has been getting in the way. We all go through the season from time to time. So this is a card, I literally through together with scraps. Yep, you heard me scraps off my desk. And you know what, that was a challenge in itself. We always have scraps laying around that just seem to pile up. So why not start to use them up!
My man and I create rustic home furniture and well his ideas and sketch pad have been flowing. So, I thought why not use the saw image from Nailed It over a heart stamped with Hardwood background stamp. I also added the little touch of an imprint on “KN” on the saw blade. It just happens to be our itials. I used the sentiment stamp by inking the “KN” in the word “knew”. I also hand cut the little screws out of a scrap of Silver Foil paper to add a touch of bling – without it being to girly.
I’m going to send you off to our fearless team leader Jennifer Blomquist. Thanks for hopping with us and for joining in our our inspiration.
I’d like to welcome you from the talented Nichole Loe and our Earning Alaska Blog Hop. As you know, we ALL have our must have products from each of the catalogs that are released. The 2017 Occasions catalog is no exception!
Dragonfly Dreams Bundle has really become my go to set the last few weeks. The sentiments are fabulous to use on their own or with the images in the set. Notice the dragonfly is shimmery? That’s an amazingly easy effect by using Clear Wink of Stella. The shimmer is just the right amount of sparkle. The first set of cards I made, I played it safe by using Sweet Sugarplum and Soft Sky. I also used the 3/8″ Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon.
I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and use a color combination that is really outside of bubble. I know you have your color comfort zone too! Peakaboo Peach and Pear Pizzazz come together amazingly well. I can’t wait to play with this color combination more. I love the pop of color that the Peakaboo Peach adds to this card. Have you made the same card in several color combinations?
Now I’ll send you off to my amazingly talented friend, mentor and fellow Fun n’ Crafty team member Stacey Lane! Thank for stopping by and see you again soon
