The story of the birth of our Lord and Savior really is this simple. Merry Christmas from my family to you!
I loved, loved, loved the October Paper Pumpkin kit. I can’t wait to add to it with the November Paper Pumpkin kit. We actually made these cards in our monthly class. Everyone loved it!
Oh my goodness – You need to seriously set a reminder to shop during extravaganza! Here is how it will work – November 20th to 26th select items will be on sale all week (I would suggest shopping early – as things may sell out!). There will be a 24 hour flash sale on November 20th and November 27th – again shop early so you don’t miss out! I don’t have details on what will be available for the flash sale on the 27th but I can share with you what will be on the flash sale for the 20th.
Here is also a little sampling of some of the items that will be on sale all week:

We needed to make another stack of thank you cards – looks like we will be spending the weekend making another stack too. This time, Jackie used the Stampin’ Blends to color in the globe image from the Going Far stamp set. The deal we made was she embossed the paper, stamped and colored the images and I would cut the images out. I think she got a better deal!
This was the first time Jackie used the blends. She is 15 so she is old enough to use “Mom’s good markers”. She used a few different color combinations and then finally settled on the blue. I explained that I wasn’t the best with shading and needed to really take a class on how to best use alcohol style makers. We did watch the the Stampin’ Up! video on blending. After a few practices she began to feel a little more comfortable on using the light and dark markers.
Due to the amount of cards we send a month, we have been using the note cards – they are a bit smaller than a standard card – but the simplicity of having a pre-cut and scored card with envelope has been super handy!
While my tribe is off to OnStage in Salt Lake City, I’ve decided to hold stamp class. Its the first time I’ve had a class since I lost my craft room. I wasn’t sure how it was going to work out – but surprisingly it worked just fine. My customers are the best – reassuring me that everything was just fine and worked great.
So today we made this super simple, super cute, easy to mass produce Christmas card. We used the Seasonal Lanterns stamp set and die – (I mean – dies are the best!) and a little hint of wink of stella. What I think I like the most about this card is the vellum and the greeting. It’s just a simple card with a big impact.
Call me a mean mom. But, I’m a stickler on sending hand written notes to thank folks for gifts, wishing a happy birthday or sending a little cheer. After all, cards are my business. This year Jackie was selected as the state presiding officer. Though out her year she will be given gifts and meeting new friends.
The theme for Grand Bethel is “explore” – we’ve had some great sets in the past that really live up to Jackie’s explore theme. Although Ken is pretty upset that I am a craft hoarder, the good news it my hoarding came in great use this year.
These two use retired DSP and stamp sets – but layout can always be used with current product. Here the cards she sent to welcome new members, thank Bethels for their gifts or sending notes of encouragement to members and adults who give of their time who need a bit of cheer.
It’s been a long time since I was here in the cyber world. Actually it’s been a long time since I was anywhere near my craft supplies. Life has happened some good , some bad and some in between. I won’t go into detail but things have been up in the air, major changes are taking place. I’ve been in a pity party.
I talked today with my Business Advisor (BDA) from the Corporate office. The great thing about my BDA – she pulls no punches and holds my feet to the fire. I’ve talked with a few friends and of course my hero – but I don’t know something was different today when I talked to Shelby. I shared where I was at in my pity party and what I feel like I should be doing and how I want to achieve these goals.
I am going to be sitting down over the next few days and letting my customers and team mates know where things are at and I am not going anywhere. I’ve just been derailed and should have turned to them for support! I have the best team, friends and customers ever.
Oh my goodness, Happy Celebrations is a must have in your private collection! This set is so versatile – boy or girl, birthday, congratulations, just because — You name it Happy Celebrations is for you!
I’m sharing three different swaps made with Happy Celebrations and Celebrations Duo Textured Embossing Folders. The possibilities are endless with the color combinations, choices of Designer Series Paper, Embellishments or celebration reason.
Whether you color in the sentiment, fussy cut, emboss or just plan stamp you are sure to have an amazing card.
During OnStage 2017 I was received one of the most gorgeous swaps ever and got to create in a shoebox swap one of the most gorgeous swaps ever! I know, I know you at thinking how can I saw two separate cards are the most gorgeous cards ever, but its true. High Tide makes the most beautiful cards ever. Every single detail makes a gigantic WOW factor.
On Friday night, several of us girls from the Fun n’ Crafty team participated in a Shoebox Swap. A Shoebox Swap is when a person creates a certain amount of kits for the participants. The kits include everything you need to create the cards. You do the stamping and put the card together. I love shoebox swaps!
My friend Kathy (and fellow Fun n’ Crafty team member) made this gorgeous card using High Tide. There were so many fine details while making this amazing card. I wish the photo did this card justice. You might not be able to see the Clear Wink of Stella as the beam of light traveling to the right of the “blub” or on the left side of the sun.
I’ve added a few suggested items to help you make the these amazing cards. Shimmery White Cardstock is a fabulous cardstock base to use for your background. Sponge Daubers, Stamping Sponges, and Sponge Brayers are used to create the different dimensions.
I was so excited to see that Jars of Love was being carried over into the 2017 – 2018 catalog. I really hope that as the holiday catalog is released we will again see some super cute holiday stamps that can be used with Jars of Love.
In the mean time, I’d like to share with you a card that I made as a swap using Jars of Love for OnStage 2017.
I also received two swaps using Jars of Love stamp set and Dies.
I hope that you are inspired with the swaps I have been sharing over the last few weeks. My goal is for you to see an idea and run with it. Whether you C.A.S.E. (Copy And Share Everything) the card exactly, use the same layout but completely different colors and stamps or a mix of the original card with a dash of your own creations.
