So, I posted the other day that I was in the baby making card mode. No more babies for me – but – people around me – I can deal with that.
I used the Stampin’ Blends alcohol based markers on the last set of cards. This time I used the Water Color Pencils. It took a bit more practice on the scrap piece of paper with the skin tone. As we had to use a “pink” water color pencil. But, I really like the baby soft skin look 🙂
There have been a few people getting married in our lives – so naturally babies come to my mind. I sat down once again to play with the new Stampin’ Blends our alcohol based markers. I created a few cards – boy – girl – neutral (meaning we don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl). This is a great set to use to “color” because of the line art.
One little tip – the more you “color” with the ivory the darker the skin tone becomes. We also carry a bronze skin tone which will be the next marker I play with!
RAWR! No Bones about It is a fun set for kids of any age. It was fun to sit down and play with this set and use our embossing paste as a fun texture. Our embossing paste is white. By using reinker you can change the color – like I did here to Garden Green. I cut all the sentiments apart after I used white embossing powder on the black paper.
Who would have thought using the same stamp set twice! I mentioned on my last post that I had a little technique to share with you using this set – making the glass look half full (get it? the name of the stamp set – half full).
It’s so easy to do! You want to use your fine tip glue pen and “color” in the image you want to shine. Set it aside for about 30 minutes or so to dry! It’s a pretty neat effect that is hard to see in the picture. I also used shimmer paper on the wine bottle that I fussy cut. I used our new blends to color in the images.
I’ve had this set sitting on the shelf for quite awhile. I’m not really a wine drinker – I got it because I loved one image – “Merry Christmas”. It was fun to sit down and use a set that I really wasn’t sure about. I’ve got some other ideas brewing in my head – wait that’s coffee – I’ve got some other ideas fermenting in my head and a few techniques that I want to share with you using this set.
I’ve really been afraid, to do the eclipse technique. Thankfully, my friend Bree had a very similar card at her card class a few weeks ago that I was able to attend. It was really a simple card to do!
I embossed and stamped the whisper white piece first. Here’s a little tip I would stamp first then emboss – but make sure the stamped images are facing up and that the Stampin’ Up! logo is facing up when you run it through the big shot. Just a little tip 🙂
Once I did that, I cut out the letters S-N-O-W. I did use little stickies just to keep them in place. I used mini Dimensionals to lift up the letters and offset them just a bit.
Today is the day – the start of Online Extravaganza! Today (Monday, November 20th) Every Good Wish happens to be on sale for 20% off! I love the water color look of this set. One of the fun techniques in this card is the embossing paste. Its just the perfect little touch.
