Fun n Crafty Holiday Catalog Hop
Thanks for coming by from my wonderful friend Merit‘s blog.
It really is the most wonderful time of year – the 2018 holiday catalog is live! I love all the fun new products, Stampin’ Blend markers, tins, ribbons, stamps and Designer Series Papers. I am once again participating in our Fun n Crafty stampers blog hop and swap. It’s always fun to see what my fellow crafters create. What makes are swaps so much fun is that we all pick a different stamp set to use. Meet my fun, beachy little Santa!
For So Santa I did a few things I don’t normally do! But I just love this beachy little Santa so much. I mean, I really do feel like I should be on the beach with him right now. I used several of our new Stampin’ Blends to color in the image. To get his beard a bit lighter I used the light basic gray and then used the color lifter over that to give it a lighter look. The sand is where I really stepped up my game and tried something I have never done before.
I used our stamping emboss paste! To get the sand color – I did the first layer in Crumb Cake and the second layer in Saraha Sand. I just added a few drops of reinker to the paste and mixed it up. I took an old tooth brush and dabbed it into the paste then dabbed it on the paper. Once the paste dried – I applied Wink of Stella over it to give it a bit of shimmer!
Now, it’s time to send you off to my talented friend Jennifer’s blog!

I loved your cards! It made me smile when I opened the package. I love that you added an additional tactile experience with the embossing paste sand!
Love the sand, especially how you were able to get the two colors speckled like that!
GREAT idea with the “sand” Nicole! I love how this card turned out ?
